QUAIL CREEK GOLF COURSE RULES AND REGULATIONS
ANNUAL GOLF PASSES ELIGIBILITY
Individual and Couples Annual Passes are available to the public. By completing the application form Pass
Holders agree to abide by all terms, policies and conditions contained herein.
ANNUAL PASS TRANSFERS AND REVOCATIONS
Annual Pass benefits are for the Annual Pass holder, spouse, and children exclusively; they may not be
sold, transferred, assigned, or extended in any manner. The City of Fairhope reserves the right to revoke
an Annual Pass if the pass holder violates terms, policies or conditions associated with the privilege of
being a Pass Holder or is unable to conduct themselves according to the Rules and Guidelines below. Any
fees paid are not refundable.
TEE TIME RESERVATIONS AND CANCELATIONS
Tee times may be reserved up to seven (7) days in advance. Tee times are available Monday through
Sunday. Quail Creek reserves the right to promote corporate, social, and fundraising outings/golf
tournaments, therefore, tee times may be restricted according to the times of such outside events.
GOLF LEAGUES, ASSOCIATIONS AND DAILY PLAY SCHEDULING
Tournaments, golf outings, and organized play will be scheduled by the Golf Professional and pro shop
staff only. A yearly calendar is kept and posted in the pro shop and on the City’s website. Please see the
pro shop personnel for scheduling. Walking is not permitted during “league” play, tournaments, and
outings.
SPEED OF PLAY
The golf course should be played in a maximum of four hours for 18 holes. It is the responsibility of each
group to be observant of its position on the golf course and to keep pace with the group ahead. Allow
faster groups to play through. Always play “ready golf.” Foursomes take precedence on the course.
RAIN POLICY
If the golf course is closed due to inclement weather while you are playing, a “rain check” will be issued
by the pro shop staff in a dollar amount equivalent to the number of un-played holes. The player’s receipt
for cart rental and greens fee will be required to redeem the “rain check.”
SMOKING / VAPING
The City of Fairhope has a smoking ordinance. Smoking is not permitted in city-owned buildings.
Therefore, no smoking is allowed in any room in the clubhouse. Smoking is permitted on the back patio
in designated areas. Smoking is permitted on the course, and cigarette or cigar butts must be disposed of
properly. Throwing of cigarette or cigar butts on the course is subject to littering laws and penalties.
FISHING, SWIMMING AND WALKING ON GOLF COURSE PROPERTY
The City of Fairhope has an ordinance that prohibits fishing and swimming in ponds located on the Quail
Creek Golf Course property. Casual walking or walking for exercise when not golfing also is not permitted
by City ordinance. The ordinance provides for prosecuting anyone involved in such activities as
trespassers.
JUNIOR GOLFERS
Quail Creek wants to grow the game of golf by bringing young players into the game. To do that, certain
rules apply to junior golfers specifically for their safety and enjoyment of the game: Juniors between the
ages of 6 and 11 years must be accompanied by at least one adult in the group playing. Junior golfers must
have their own set of clubs. Junior golfers must keep pace on the course and allow faster groups to play
through. Junior golfers are encouraged to sign up for Junior Clinics so that they can improve their game
and learn more about the rules of golf. Private junior lessons are available by appointment.
QUAIL CREEK GOLF COURSE LOCAL RULES OF PLAY, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
• The USGA Rules of Golf and the following Quail Creek local rules, policies and procedures will
govern play. No play is allowed on the course or any portion thereof which has been closed for
any reason by the Golf Professional, Superintendent, or their designee.
• Non-golfers are not allowed on the course at any time. If a golfer requires special assistance or if
a parent must accompany a younger child, pre-approval must be obtained from the pro shop
personnel.
• Children under the age of six (6) years are prohibited on the course. Only a golfer with a valid
driver’s license is permitted to operate a golf cart. Children are prohibited from driving golf carts
even if accompanied by an adult.
• A maximum of two riders and two bags per golf cart is permitted. For the protection of the golf
course, the “90-degree rule” applies at all times unless restricted to “cart paths only” due to
abnormal conditions.
• During peak periods of play, holidays and weekends, a non-playing “rider” in a golf cart is subject
to the applicable fee for 9 holes or 18 holes. Those seen to be abusing the use of the golf carts
and the rules governing the use of carts will be removed from the course immediately.
• All golfers will receive a receipt for their daily fee and must show this receipt to the starter prior
to teeing off. Pass holders must get a receipt at the golf shop. Play will originate from the #1 tee
unless otherwise directed by the pro shop staff.
• Groups of more than four persons are not allowed on the course unless express permission is
received from the golf shop staff. If a fivesome slows play on the course, it will be requested to
(a) let others play through or (b) be broken up for the remainder of the round.
• Failure to follow the marshal’s directions will result in removal from the course with no refund of
fees paid to play.
• Cut-off shorts, gym shorts, tank tops, halter tops, swim wear, short shorts, or shirts with
offensive/profane graffiti are not permitted on the course. Metal spikes are not permitted. Soft
spikes, tennis or other athletic shoes are acceptable alternatives. Street shoes, boots, high heels,
or any type of footwear that may cause damage to the putting surfaces are not allowed.
• Pull carts and golf bags must never be placed on tee boxes, greens, or collars of greens.
• Unauthorized golf instruction on the course is strictly prohibited.
• All food and beverages on the course must be purchased from Quail Creek Golf Course snack bar.

purchased from the snack bar in the clubhouse.
• Management reserves the right to refuse service when it is in the customer’s or the golf course’s
best interest to do so.
• SERVICE dogs for the handicapped and visually impaired are allowed in the clubhouse.
• Golfers will be denied golfing privileges or be automatically removed from the course for the
following reasons:
• Disorderly/aggressive behavior
• Submitting false information for the purpose of gaining access to the course
• Failure to pay a green fee and/or cart fee
• Failure to register with the starter.
• Intentionally hitting balls off the course into private property adjacent to the course
• Public urination
• Failure to heed the marshal’s instructions
• Failure to comply with current rules and regulations
• Our goal is for all golfers to enjoy their time at Quail Creek Golf Course.
